Kevin Ames remains committed to the three organizations he began serving before his retirement, while joining an additional board since that time. In 1998, Kevin joined the board of directors for The Three Seven’s Ranch, a Christian camp ministry seeking to provide character training and encouragement for young people. In that same year he became a member of the Board of Trustees at Maranatha Baptist Bible College—a college whose goal is to give each of their students a Christian education. In 2007, Kevin began serving on the Board of Directors for Pursuant as a means of lending his talents to a fundraising agency impacting the nonprofit sector. And in 2008 Kevin became a member of the Board of Directors for The Mentoring Project, an organization existing to provide positive male role models to boys ages 7-14.
Kevin’s extensive background includes more than 26 years as a controller within the banking industry and more than six years as Chief Financial Officer for a bank with 135 year history and more than $60 billion assets. He was part of 10 completed acquisitions and two mergers during his career with Bank of the West.
Kevin attended University of California Berkeley and graduated with a BA in Business Administration. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay area his whole life. Kevin is married to Hazel, his wife of over 42 years. They have two grown sons and eleven grandchildren.
